The objectives of HAA Lahaina shall be:

A. To provide education and assistance in returning kānaka to ʻāina, kai and wai with a focus on kuleana lands, allodial title, The Great Māhele, water rights, ua koe ke kuleana o nā kanaka (reserving the rights of native tenants), related civil rights, and to protect and restore the covenant of the Kānāwai of Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ‘Āina;

B. To mālama i nā kūpuna hiamoe loa, including assisting in the repatriation of iwi kūpuna, and protection and restoration of ancient burial sites, not limited to ‘āina and kai;

C. To educate on the history of Lahaina from time of the Kumulipo, throughout Lahaina’s significance as the nation’s capital, to the present;

D. To revitalize the national language of Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ʻĀina;

E. To educate on traditional protocol; and

F. To affirm the continuity of Hawaiian independence and to protect our ʻāina, kai and wai forever.
